Hi Family Matters Candidates!

We are really looking forward to returning to Hong Kong. We will be conducting our seminar on Sunday, June 29th and Tuesday, July 1st. All seminars and interviews will take place at the Marco Polo Gateway Hotel, located in Harbor City, TST (Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and take exit A1). To book an appointment, please email us at info@familymatterscanada.com or contact our Hong Kong representative, Beth Kwong.

We need lots of great candidates because we have so many jobs to fill so please tell all of your friends!

We especially have a high demand for nannies that are currently caring for babies and/or toddlers.

Something important that you should know is that Immigration Canada has been cracking down on illegal activities conducted by non-reputable agencies. Caregivers from abroad have been lied to and taken advantage of. They have been victims of fraud and as a result, they have been sent back home by Canadian Immigration. What has been happening is that caregivers are coming to Canada under false pretenses. They think they are coming to work in a specific home when in fact; there is no job for them - the job offer was fake.

When you arrive in Canada, Immigration will contact your employer. If your employer cannot be reached, you will be detained at the airport until your employer can be reached. If the employer is unavailable, you will be required to leave your passport at the immigration office. You have 2 weeks to return to Immigration with your employer. If you fail to do so you will be deported immediately. Some women don’t even have that option. Immigration simply puts you back on a plane home (at your expense!) the same day. It is devastating. So by no fault of your own, you too can become a victim of this crime. Be very careful when you decide which agency to go with. Do your homework…make sure they are reputable!! Family Matters places you in real jobs with real employers. We encourage you to keep in touch with your employer and to speak with them before you book your trip to Canada, so they can be available to pick you up from the airport.

Thanks to everyone who has referred their friends and family to us. We promise we will continue to offer our high level of personal service.

See you soon!

Testimonials

Dear Tova and Michelle,

To work here in Canada was a great blessing for me. It was a dream that transform into reality. I have a very good employer. They treat me as a part of their family wholeheartedly very opposite to what i had experienced in Hongkong before. They provided me more foods, very comfortable place to rest, personal computer and they will send me to driving school with their own expense. I'll be 1 yr here this coming Sept 14 and the baby that i am caring for will be celebrating his 1st birthday on Oct 23 this year and I'm so excited for the big party.I am very happy with them and i feel that their happy to be with me too especially my little angel....the baby.

From the deepest portion of my heart,i would like to say thankyou to the Family Matters for being the Key of achieving my dreams. I wish you all the best. God Bless!

We recently had a get-together with some of our candidates who have come to Canada from Hong Kong. It was a celebration at Mandarin Restaurant in Toronto, where many friends reconnected. We all had a lot of fun, laughter and of course - food!
