Services for Families

As an employer considering Family Matters Caregivers Inc. as your placement agency please consider our philosophy.

Child Care

At Family Matters Caregivers Inc. we believe choosing the right person to care for your children is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. We are a nanny placement agency that specializes in customer service. We spend the time listening closely to exactly what the employer and the candidates are looking for. This scrutiny enables us to match clients and applicants successfully.

As working mothers ourselves we understand your children are your most precious gifts. We take our role in helping you find the best possible person to look after them very seriously. All our candidates are interviewed in person and pre-screened by us. When interviewing a potential candidate, we apply the ultimate test: would we feel comfortable leaving our own children with this person? Only if the answer is a confident ‘yes’ do we accept that candidate’s application at our agency.

We realize that our clients are very busy people. We do not waste your time or ours sending you countless candidates to interview. We carefully choose only the applicants who best suit your needs.

Elder Care

At Family Matters Caregivers Inc. we also help families find suitable caregivers for the elderly and disabled. Hiring a live-in caregiver is an excellent alternative to institutionalized care. More and more people are choosing to be independent in their own homes as long as possible. Live-In caregivers can provide help to recovering, disabled, chronically or terminally ill adults who would ordinarily be cared for in a nursing home or hospital. Families are recognizing the benefits of keeping their loved ones at home.

When Family Matters Caregivers Inc. sends applicants for interviews it is important for us to find out as much information as possible about the person requiring care. What special needs does the person have? What will the duties of the caregiver be? Is it strictly a care giving job or does the person also require light housekeeping and meal preparation? Does the caregiver require a nursing or Health Care Aid background? Will medication need to be administered? Is a driver’s license required? The more information we have the better we can try to match up a suitable caregiver.

Full-time, live-in care for the elderly can start at $275.00 net per week. Candidates with prior Canadian experience command $300.00-$350.00 net per week. Live-out caregivers are asking $450.00 net per week.

Fees To Employers

At Family Matters Caregivers Inc., we have no registration fee. Fees are only due upon successful placement of a candidate.

When sponsoring a nanny from overseas, our fee is due once we receive the Labour Market Opinion from HRDC. If you cannot wait for your nanny to arrive and you need to hire locally, you will be subject to the local placement fee. Any fees already paid will be applied towards that fee.

Our fees include but are not limited to the following: a face-to-face interview, reference checking, setting up interviews for you with selected candidates, wage negotiation, Child CPR and First Aid Certification for your nanny once she has begun working (if applicable), a cooking class for your nanny, and a three-month replacement guarantee. If it is a live-in position, we also handle the processing of the application for HRSDC. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your caregiver or they leave, we will be happy to fill the same position with a candidate better suited to you.

It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that all proper payroll deductions are remitted.

PLACEMENT FEE $1195.00 plus GST *

OVERSEAS SPONSORING FEE $995.00 plus GST

Return clients will be extended the courtesy of a 10% discount (pre-tax)

Testimonials

Family Matters was fabulous in helping us find our amazing nanny Carmen. Michelle knew exactly what I needed and Carmen has been a wonderful addition to our family—she loves our daughter, and our daughter loves her! Thank you to both Michelle and Tova for finding the perfect person for the most important job on earth—caring for our precious bundle.

Our experience with Tova and Michele and Family Matters has been super. Michele provided excellent support for us during the nanny sponsoring process, especially when the due date for our second baby was fast approaching and our nanny still hadn’t arrived. When our son was born (our first was only 20 months old) and the nanny we sponsored still hadn’t arrived we thought we were in a real jam but Family Matters came through in spades. Just days after coming out of the hospital Tova sent us five fantastic women to interview and we were able to hire on the spot. She took care of everything and we’ve never looked back. We have recommended them to many friends who also have nothing but great things to say. The truth is that you can’t be sure what the stumbling blocks will be during the sponsoring process but you can rely on Family Matters to offer incredible support and meet your needs from start to finish. Worth every penny!

We were extremely pleased with the service we received from Family Matters. The big advantage of Family Matters is, unlike other agencies we considered, Tova Rich actually personally interviews the prospective caregivers and is able to provide concrete feedback about them. Phone interviews cannot compare to a personal interview. We are thrilled with our nanny and very grateful to Family Matters for finding her for us. We would have no hesitation recommending Family Matters to any one in search of a live in caregiver.
